Ms. B and Mrs Barr attended the SXSWedu tech conference.
Ms. B's advanced groups made great progress on their automatas, we had many machines near completion.
We had the Discovery Dome on loan from the AISD Science Resource Center. All students had the opportunity to visit the dome and watch a science video on a 360 degree screen.
Students also had the opportunity to participate in Maker Stations. This time they were creating animals using hearts for Valentine's Day.
In our tech classes this month, 1st and 2nd grades worked on word processing skills. 3rd - 4th grades were coding.
Students in Ms. B's advanced groups continued working on their automatas.
5th grade used SeeSaw to explore the Greek and Latin roots of words.
We are getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. Ms. B's advanced group began a new STEM project in conjunction with the EdExchange program through the Thinkery. They are building automata, which are machines that don't use batteries. They are having to problem solve and figure out how to build thier own machine by looking at models.

I'm not just a 3rd grade teacher; I'm also our technology coach! This year I will highlight some of the little things that we do that contribute to making our campus great.
