Dear Joslin Community,
What a great second week of school! Students are getting into the rhythm of things, and I enjoyed getting into classrooms to learn a little about each of our mini-communities on campus. With the celebrating of Labor Day at the beginning of this week, I can’t help but take a moment to appreciate the tremendous labor of love that our teachers and staff put into each school day for our children. I mentioned to several classes over the last few days that if they look around their classrooms, they might notice the inspirational banners hung on the walls, the organized classroom libraries on the shelves, the sorted materials at the ready for class projects, and the day’s lesson that was prepared for them. These hallmarks of school are a given, and so are easy to overlook as notable, yet I observed with them that they can also be seen as outward signs of love and care that their teachers have for them and their learning, day in and day out. This labor is productive. It creates a fertile environment for students to explore and flourish, each a world unto themselves. So in considering the work of our staff, our students, and all our Joslin families, I wanted to appreciate together how this is some of the most important work being done in our world today. There is little more valuable than providing a good education to the next generation, and it’s a joy to do it with you at Joslin. Warm regards to each and all, Patrick Aziz
